Injury limited Ehlers early in the season, but despite limited to 24 games, April claimed All-SAC Honorable Mention honors and was a NAIA Daktronics Scholar Athlete. She averaged 6.3 points and 3.9 rebounds per game.
09/10 LCU
April moved into the starting line-up early in the season and made starts in 21 of her 31 games played. She claimed Honorable Mention All-Sooner Athletic Conference honors, finishing third on the team in free-throw percentage (60/71 84.5%), steals (23) and rebounds with 112. April completed her first double-double of her college career on 1/7/10 with 12 points and 11 rebounds against Oklahoma Baptist.
08/09 LCU
She made 29 appearances as a freshman and averaged 1.1 points a performance. She had four points and four rebounds against University of the Southwest (11/17) as her best game of the season.
In High School
April is a product of Lubbock’s Cooper High School and was part of a 24-4 team that advanced all the way to the Regional Finals under coach Trent Hilliard. The four-year letterwinner was named to the TGCA and TABC All-State teams and was honored as an All-Star by both organizations. She was selected as the 4-3A District Co-MVP, and also received All-Tournament last season in the Caprock Tournament and Regional Tournament. As a senior, Ehlers averaged 15.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.4 steals per game. The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal selected her as the girls All-City Player of the Year. Along with basketball, Ehlers has lettered three seasons in volleyball and four in softball. The Lubbock AJ also named her to the 2008 All-City Second Team as a shortstop in softball. She also excelled in the classroom. Ehlers was a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, and served as a Class Officer over the last four years. She is a two-time “Class Favorite” selection and was in the top ten percentile academically at Cooper.
