LUBBOCK, Texas (November 7, 2011) - Brittany Roberts racked up 19 points and Lubbock Christian University went 22/24 from the free-throw line to garner their first win of the season with a 69-56 victory over University of Texas - Permian Basin Monday evening inside Rip Griffin Center.

LUBBOCK, Texas (November 5, 2011) - "It’s not how you start the season, it is how you finish the season," has been a motto Lubbock Christian University has leaned on in recent basketball memory and one they hope will be true again this season.  The Lady Chaparrals, who have had their last eight seasons come to a close at the NAIA National Championship tournament, opened the 2011-2012 season Saturday to a 61-44 home loss to NCAA Div. II Metro State College to mark a season-opening loss for the fourth time in the last five seasons.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Defending national champion Azusa Pacific (Calif.) landed at No. 1 in the 2011 - 12 NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Coaches' Preseason Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Monday. The Cougars were awarded all 12 first-place votes for 312 points to earn their first-ever No. 1 ranking, dating back to the 1999 - 2000 season. Azusa Pacific's move to the top of the poll comes after winning the 2011 national championship in which the Cougars denied Union (Tenn.) its third-straight title, 65-59. Azusa Pacific also ends the Lady Bulldogs' hold at No. 1, a streak that lasted 48-consecutive weeks dating back to Oct. 31, 2007.

OKLAHOMA CITY (October 18, 2011) - Oklahoma City University is picked to win a third consecutive Sooner Athletic Conference women's basketball title, according to the coaches' preseason poll, which also had the Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals selected third.
