KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After claiming its sixth national championship on March 20, Oklahoma City is ranked No. 1 for the seventh-straight week in the 2011 - 12 NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Coaches' Postseason Top 25 Poll, announced Monday by the national office. The Stars rank second all-time in total national championships and concluded the season with a 35-1 record. Oklahoma City garnered all 11 first-place votes and totaled 281 points.

The Stars claimed the No. 1 position in 10-of-13 Top 25 Polls this season and were never ranked lower than third.

National Championship runner-up Union (Tenn.) garners the No. 2 ranking. The Lady Bulldogs, who were making their fourth-consecutive trip to the finals, fell to Oklahoma City, 69-48. Union has been ranked No. 2 for five-straight weeks and was either No. 2 or 3 in all 13 polls.

Rounding out the top five in the postseason poll are No. 3 Lubbock Christian (Texas), No. 4 Westmont (Calif.) and No. 5 Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.). The Lady Chaparrals earned their first appearance in the Fab Four since 2006 with a 66-61 win over Westmont. No. 3 is the highest ranking for Lubbock Christian this season.

Surprise Fab Four participant, Georgetown (Ky.) improved the most within the Top 25 by jumping eight spots to No. 11. The Tiger's Cinderella run at the national championship ended in the semifinals against eventual national runner-up Union, 62-50.

Three newcomers enter the poll: No. 20 Biola (Calif.), No. 21 Rogers State (Okla.) and No. 24 Avila (Mo.). Biola is ranked for the first time since March 9, 2011, while Rogers State previously appeared on Feb. 27. Avila, who previously had not cracked the Top 25 since joining Division I in 2009 - 10, was last ranked on Jan. 25, 2000 in Division II.

Columbia (Mo.), Loyola (La.) and William Woods (Mo.) fell from the rankings this week.

The Sooner Athletic Conference, Golden State Athletic Conference and Mid-South Conference each boast four programs ranked in the Top 25. Overall, nine of the 12 conferences and independents are represented.

The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conference and unaffiliated groups.

LUBBOCK, Texas (March 23, 2012) - For the first time in program history, Lubbock Christian University produced three NAIA All-Americans in a single season, as the NAIA Women's Basketball All-America teams included Second Team member Kelsey Canavan and honorable mentions Emily Atkins and Nicole Hampton.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 21, 2012) - Following a 69-48 victory by Oklahoma City University over Union (Tenn.) to claim their sixth NAIA title, the NAIA announced the All-Tournament team of the 32nd Annual Division I Women's Basketball National Championship, and two members of the Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals were named to the team with Brittany Roberts and Kelsey Canavan both receiving recognition.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 19, 2012) - Taylor Booze and Dietra Caldwell combined for eight three-pointers and led No.1 Oklahoma City University to the championship game of the 32nd Annual Division I Women's Basketball National Championship presented by Kentuckytourism.com, as the Stars defeated No.2 seed Lubbock Christian University 85-56 Monday night in a Fab Four match-up inside Frankfort Convention Center.
