LUBBOCK, Texas (November 19, 2009) - The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals basketball team has joined LCU student organization Omega Chi Chi to host a Teddy Bear Drive for the Lady Chaps home game on November 30th against Wayland Baptist University to benefit the Children’s Advocacy Center of the South Plains.

X-Country Runners Head to Washington

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The 2009 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Men’s and Women’s Cross Country National Championships are scheduled for Nov. 21 in Vancouver, Wash. The event will take place at the Fort Vancouver Historical Site and hosted by the Cascade Collegiate Conference and Concordia (Ore.) University. This marks the first year for the event in Vancouver -- Kenosha, Wis., was the site for the Championships the previous two years. Lubbock Christian University Basil Melek and Izzie Miranda are the Chaparrals individuals competing in the NAIA’s marquee cross country event.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Defending national champion Lubbock Christian University (Texas) claims the No. 1 ranking in the 2010 NAIA Baseball Coaches’ Preseason Top 25 Poll, announced by the NAIA on Tuesday. The Chaps, who finished last year with a 52-8 record and its second World Series title, gathered 23 of the possible 24 first-place votes and 684 total points.
