Season Comes To End At Tourney

OKLAHOMA CITY (November 5, 2011) - For a second straight season, Lubbock Christian University had their season come to an end in the opening round of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament to Oklahoma City University, as the No.15 Stars shutout the Lady Chaparrals 3-0 Saturday afternoon in a windy affair.

The Lady Chaps were out-shot 19-8 in the game, with a 9-2 advantage for the Stars in shots on goal.  The game was scoreless until the 33rd minute when Hollis St. John came off the bench to score on a free kick for her second goal of the season.  The Stars put the game away in the second half with Blerta Rashica and Meghan McMahon scoring goals 2:01 apart beginning in the 66th minute. Stars goalkeepers Ashley Bechtold and Alissa Reed combined for the shutout for OCU.

LCU ends their season at 5-10-2 with the loss.  OCU improved to 16-1-1 and advances to the next round of the SAC Tournament.
