By: Chris Due

OKLAHOMA CITY (October 27, 2011) - Lubbock Christian University held Oklahoma Christian University to one shot on goal and the Lady Chaparrals defeated OC 2-0 in a cold and rainy Sooner Athletic Conference contest Thursday night.

LCU scored a goal in each half of the game.  Rebekah Wenger tallied the first goal with a goal in the 31st minute with an assist granted to Kaylyn Settle.  Jordin Farris was fouled in the 62nd minute and it resulted in a penalty kick attempt.  Stacy Ann Johnson took the attempt and scored the insurance goal for a 2-0 lead.

The Lady Chaps out-shot the Lady Eagles 12-7, but the shots on goal were limited with LCU having a 4-1 advantage.  Allison Brinson claimed the shutout making a save on the only shot faced.  Brinson matches the program mark for career shutouts and single-season shutouts by matching Lacy Burress with her fourth shutout for LCU.

The top eight teams in the SAC qualify for the SAC Tournament and the win by LCU places them in eighth place in the conference standings with a mark of 3-6 in the conference.  LCU improved to 5-9 overall.  OC fell to 2-6-1 in the SAC and 5-10-1 overall.  The Lady Chaps resume their conference road trip Saturday at noon in Alva, Okla. facing Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
