LCU and Schoop Finish Second

LUBBOCK, Texas (September 20, 2011) - Anna Schoop and Sinae Montoya each had top-five finishes and the Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals golf team finished second in the Lady Chaps Fall Invitational at The Rawls Course at Texas Tech.

Schoop led LCU in each round, opening with a 74 and following with a 73.  She finished in second place with a 147 final score.  Schoop led the even in pars with 28.  Montoya finished tied for fourth overall.  She recorded a 76 in each round for a total of 252.  Shelbye Hill had the biggest improvement in the second round, as she followed an 81 with a 78 to finish in 12^th with a 159.  Macalee Lane (80, 85) and Rachael Dansby (76,85) each tied for 17^th with a 165.

The Lady Chaps shot a 618 as a team.  They opened with a 306 and followed with a 312.  They finished 24 strokes behind Oklahoma City University, who won the tournament with four players finishing in the top-seven.  Jessica Schiele of OCU won the event with a 139 (68, 71) against a field of 31.
