Strong Finish Leads to Fourth

OKLAHOMA CITY (October 11, 2011) - Lubbock Christian University improved their team score 13 strokes in the final round of the Oklahoma City University Stars Fall Classic to finish in fourth place led by a seventh place finish by Anna Schopp Tuesday at Lincoln Park Golf Course.
Schopp led the Lady Chaparrals in both rounds of the classic with an opening round 78 followed by a 73 for a 151 two-round final total. Her 73 in the final round was a shot off the top score turned in on the day. Shelbye Hill improved five strokes, following an 81 with a 76 for a 157 and a share of 17th place. Sinae Montoya just missed the top-25 with a share of 26th from a pair of 80s for a 160. Rachael Dansby had the biggest improvement in the final round by turning in a 79 after an opening round 85 for a 164 and 32nd place. Macalee Lane finished tied for 33rd place with a 165 (82, 83). Alos representing LCU playing individually was Savanna Stavinoha (tied-58th; 91,89,180) and Sarah Schwertner (69th; 97,99,196).
Oklahoma City won the event with the top two finishers leading a team score of 598 (298, 300) Jessica Schiele of OCU led the field of 70 with a 145 (71,74). LCU finished fourth amongst the 12-team field with a 629. They followed an opening round 321 with a 308.
