SAC Women's Golfer of the Week

OKLAHOMA CITY (April 25, 2011) - Lubbock Christian University’s Rachael Dansby has been named Sooner Athletic Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for April 18-24.

Dansby won the conference championship in Claremore, Okla. Last week with a two-round 161 and led the Lady Chaparrals to a shocking come-from-behind team championship – the first for the LCU women’s golf program. She topped 34 other golfers in the field and claimed her second victory of her LCU career.  Her two wins ties her with Kelly Rainbolt for the most career victories in program history.

The honor for Dansby marks the second time a Lady Chaps golfer has been honored this season.  Shelbye Hill was named SAC Women’s Golfer of the week for March 7-13 and eventually claimed the NAIA Women’s National Golfer of the Week honor.  The women’s golf program is currently preparing for the NAIA National Championships, which are scheduled for May 17-20 in Greeneville, Tenn.
