Lady Chaps Wrap Up Season In Eighth

SHAWNEE, Okla. (November 5, 2011) - The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals cross country team concluded their running season with an eighth place finish at the Sooner Athletic Conference Championships.

Amanda Lopez led LCU with a 30^th place finish with a time of 20:36. Kirsti Whipple (32^nd, 20:42) and Tashah Overbo (39^th, 21:05) were within thirty seconds of finishing behind Lopez to finish in the top-40 for the Lady Chaps.  Also competing for LCU was Allix Hardin (52nd, 22:37), Kayla Ingraham (55^th, 22:52) and Erin Bailey (61^st, 23:32).

Brenda Felipe of Rogers State University won the event with a time of 18:38 to top the field of 76 runners.  LCU averaged a finish of 21:34 in the race to finish eighth.  Wayland Baptist University won the team event in an average time of 19:21 and four runners finishing in the top six spots.
