LCU Competes In Annual Classic

STILLWATER, Okla. (October 2, 2011) - The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals cross country team competed in the 75th Annual Cowboy Jamboree hosted by Oklahoma State University and the Lady Chaps finished in 23rd place out of 32 teams in the college division.
Amanda Lopez had the top finish for the Lady Chaps, as she finished in 104th with a time of 21:05. The Lady Chaps were packed together, as Kirstie Whipple (115th, 21:26) and Tashah Overbo (118th, 21:27) finished less than a second apart from each ther and less than 30 seconds behind Lopez. Allix Hardin was not too far behind them, as she finished 165th with a time of 22:58. Also running with the Lady Chaps was Kayla Ingraham (172, 23:09) and Erin Bailey (179th, 23:37).
LCU finished in 23rd with an average completion time of 22:01. Friends University completed a solid finish to win the event, as they had four runners finish in the top six, with Jordan Arnold winning the event with a time of 18:11 among the field of 264 runners. Friends averaged a finishing time of 18:47.
