Hargraves Signs With LCU

LUBBOCK, Texas (December 14, 2011) - Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals women's basketball head coach Steve Gomez has announced they have received the signature of Ashlyn Hargraves of The Woodlands High School, as she has committed to join the 2012/2013 incoming class.

Hargraves is a 5-8 shooting guard playing in her third season with The Woodlands varsity squad.  As a junior, she was part of a Regional Quarterfinals squad that finished 26-6.  She claimed Second Team All-District honors and was the district Defensive Player of the Year.  The two-time Academic All-District honoree also claimed Second Team All-District honors as a sophomore, leading TWHS to a 21-9 finish.  Through 17 games as a senior, The Woodlands is off to a 15-2 start and Hargraves leads the team with 25 three-pointers and shooting at a clip of 40%.  She is averaging 7.4 points per game.

Along with playing basketball for TWHS, Hargraves also plays AAU basketball and competes in track & field for The Woodlands.  She is the third player committed to the Lady Chaps joining Haley Fowler (Smyer) and Ashton Meeks (Trinity Christian).
