Women's Basketball Annual Fundraiser

LUBBOCK, Texas (September 1, 2010) - The Lubbock Christian University women’s basketball team will host their annual Lady Chaparral Golf Classic at Shadow Hills Golf Course on Saturday, September 11th with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.

The tournament, which benefits the LCU women’s basketball program, is a four-man scramble format. Over 40 sponsors are involved in this year’s tournament and many prizes will be available. A hole-in-one on hole #13 will result in a 2010 vehicle from Gene Messer Ford, and a hole-in-one on hole #3 results in a prize of $10,000 from Cam Fannin Insurance (an additional $10,000 would also be donated to the women’s basketball program). Along with door prizes, additional prizes will be awarded on designated holes (closest to the pin, longest drive) and on all par three holes.

The winning team of the tournament will receive $800 ($200 per player). Second place will receive $600 ($150 per player) and third place receives $400 ($100 per player). Team registration can be made by contacting Steve Gomez at 720-7285 or at steve.gomez@lcu.edu. Registration is $400 per team and the registration includes range balls, green fees, carts and lunch.
