LUBBOCK, Texas (December 17, 2009) - Lubbock Christian University volleyball head coach Jennifer Lawrence is excited to announce Andi Rose of Canyon High School has signed a letter of intent to join the Lady Chaparrals volleyball squad for the 2010-2011 school year.
Rose is a 5’10" outside hitter from Canyon, Texas. She lettered three seasons for Canyon High School and played this past season for head coach Lorrie Hammit’s squad that finished 25-11 and completed the season with a trip to the Class 4A Quarterfinals. Rose produced 337 kills, 73 aces, 195 digs and 65 blocks this season and claimed First Team All-District honors for a second consecutive season. The Canyon team captain also made her ser second appearance on the Amarillo Globe News Super Team. Rose also has spent a season on the Canyon girl’s varsity basketball squad.
The signing marks the second player signed for the 2010 incoming class. Rose joins Randall High School product Tawney Westenburg, who signed in November. The Lady Chaps just completed a 27-8 season and their seventh trip to the NAIA National Championships after claiming their 12th Sooner Athletic Conference title.
