OKLAHOMA CITY - The Sooner Athletic Conference announced their weekly dose of volleyball accolades and included in the mix for a fourth consecutive week is Lubbock Christian University's Elissa Loynes, who receives the Hitter of the Week honor.
Loynes receives the award for a fifth time this season. LCU played just one match on the week, but the Kemah, Texas native helped the Lady Chaps to a 3-0 win over Wayland Baptist. Loynes supplied 14 kills and a .419 kill percentage in the match. She also produced three digs, two blocks and an ace in the match. On the season, the junior ranks sixth in the NAIA with a .407 kill percentage on the season.
The No. 21 Lady Chaps return to action Tuesday night at 7 p.m. inside Rip Griffin Center hosting West Texas A&M. LCU places their 25-match home winning streak to the test against a Lady Buffs squad that is ranked No.6 in NCAA Div. II . Tuesday’s match can be viewed online via www.lcuchaps.com.
