Chaps Claim a Pair of Academic Honors

LUBBOCK, Texas (June 9, 2011) – A pair of Lubbock Christian University Chaparral golfers claimed Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors, as the NAIA recognized Cosme Beamonte and Cameron Swarb for their efforts in the classroom.

Beamonte, a native of Rio Cuarto, Argentina, is a junior with a 3.56 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) majoring in Business Administration.  Swarb is a senior from White Deer, Texas and had a 3.70 GPA in Secondary Education.  The honor is the first for each of the golfers.  It marks the third straight season the Chaps have received the honor and with multiple recipients. 

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
