Cross Country Additions

LUBBOCK, Texas (June 23, 2010) - Lubbock Christian University cross country head coach Clyde Neff has announced his incoming class of men’s and women’s cross country runner for the 2010 season.
On the men’s side, Neff brings in five newcomers, with University of Texas transfer Sann Allison highlighting the list. Allison, a native of Canyon, Texas, spent his freshman season running for the Longhorns. He attended UT after lettering four years at Canyon High School, where he was named all-state on three occasions. Three of the five recruits by Neff competed in state meets to cap their high school careers. Trey Bales (Kermit High School - Kermit, Texas) and Matthew Rodriguez (Slaton High School - Slaton, Texas) each competed in the Texas Class 2A Championship Meet, while Brent Smith of Haughton, Louisiana (Houghton High School) competed in the Louisiana Class 4A State Meet. Smith finished second in the 800-meter run at the Louisiana Class 4A State Meet. Also joining the Chaps is David Sambrano, who comes to LCU from Franklin High School in El Paso, Texas.
The women’s program will have four new names joining the group. Transferring in is Amber Brooks of NCAA Div. II Cross Country power Abilene Christian University. Brooks attended Levelland High School before arriving at ACU. Klondike High School’s Abbi Brock is a native of Lamesa, Texas and competed in the Class A State Meet. Also joining the Lady Chaparrals is Britney Shedd of Petersburg High School (Petersburg, Texas) and Piscilla Villareal of Canyon High School (Canyon, Texas).
The Chaps and Lady Chaps are currently finalizing their 2010 season schedule and the schedule will be announced soon.
