LUBBOCK, Texas (November 28, 2011) - A pair of players from last season's Lubbock Christian University men's basketball squad have taken their talents to the next level, as Kenny Hewitt and Russ Permenter are teammates competing for the American Basketball Association’s Dallas Impact.

Hewitt, a Dallas native, left LCU last season as the program's all-time leading scorer with,1835 career points.  In two games this season with Dallas, Hewitt is averaging 18 points and eight rebounds.  He also has six assists and two blocks on the season.  The Chaps all-time leading scorer finished his career ranking second in LCU program history in field goals attempted (1,360), field goals made (613), free-throws made (412) and free-throws attempted (539).  He also ranks third in three-pointers attempted (561) and fifth in three-pointers made (197).

Permenter, a 6-9 forward from Temple Texas, spent his senior season with LCU after transferring in from Providence College.  With Dallas, Permenter is averaging a double-double with 22 points and 15 rebounds. He is also averaging four blocks a game.  Permenter finished his senior season with 56 blocks for the fifth best single-season mark in program history. His 56 blocks ranked tenth in the NAIA last season.

The Dallas Impact, led by head coach David Washington, is a second-year member of the ABA.  The ABA is a semi-professional basketball league founded in 1999, which has 86 teams across North America.
