LUBBOCK, Texas (November 13, 2011) - It may have been a hard decision for Midland Lee High School product Mick Limon, who is the younger brother of Wayland Baptist University NAIA All-American Marcus Limon and the son of former Lubbock Christian University baseball player Hector Limon. Mick chose to follow in his father's footsteps and he signed with the Chaparrals to become a student-athlete beginning with the 2012-2013 school term.
Mick, preparing for his senior season with the Lee Rebels, went 11-2 on the mound and claimed Co-District 3-5A Player of the Year honors. He lost just one game in district play leading the Rebels to the UIL postseason. His father Hector is a former Estacado High School head baseball coach and currently coaches Lee. Hector was a member of the Chaparrals 1983 NAIA National Championship team and was inducted into the LCU Hall of Honor in 1998. His brother Marcus pitched this past summer in the Minnesota Twins affiliation after closing out an All-American career at rival Wayland Baptist University with a program single-season record with 150 strikeouts.
