Lubbock Christian University and the athletic department are proud to announce that the school will be supporting an intercollegiate men’s soccer program beginning in August 2010. The soccer program will compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and will be a member of the Sooner Athletic Conference. There are currently 218 NAIA schools that participate in men’s soccer, including all twelve Sooner Athletic Conference schools. Athletic and/or academic scholarships will be offered to student-athletes competing on the soccer team.

 

Timeline of important dates:

 

March 2009: Preparations being made for an on-campus soccer facility. The facility will be located north of the softball field and west of the current maintenance buildings.

 

Summer 2009: Official (public) announcement made concerning LCU Soccer, and prospective coaches begin interview process.

 

January 2010: Coach will be hired and begin scheduling games, recruiting players, and hosting try-outs on campus.

 

August 2010: Student-athletes report to campus and begin practice.
