			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<b>GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas</b> (October 26, 2011)&nbsp;- The Lubbock Christian University Chaparrals golf team completed the very competitive Northwood Fall Shootout in a share of seventh place at Tangle Ridge Golf Course.

The Chaps opened with a 298 and followed with a 303 and 298 to complete the tournament with an 899.&nbsp; They tied Bethany College in the standings.&nbsp; Neil DuPreez was the only Chaps member with a top-10 finish, firing a 220.&nbsp; His opening round score of 72 led the team and his final round of 72 co-led the team. Leon Scheeper (75,74, 77; 226, tied-22<sup>nd</sup>), Facundo Garcia (77, 73, 77; 227, tied-25<sup>th</sup>) and Josh Mahan (74, 81, 72; 227 tied-25<sup>th</sup>) each finished in the top-25 for LCU.&nbsp; Garcia led LCU in the second round with his 73 and Mahan co-led the squad with a final round 73.&nbsp; Also competing for LCU was Cameron Swarb (78,80,78; 236, tied-56<sup>th</sup>), Blake Fitzgerald (84, 76, 84; 244, 64<sup>th</sup>) and Rusty Keneda (88, 81, 84; 253, 67<sup>th</sup>).

Eight strokes separated the top six teams, with Our Lady of the Lake outlasting the field of 12 teams with a 881 (296, 292, 293).&nbsp; Oklahoma Baptist individual Chase Lindsey won the tournament with a 12-under-par 204 (64,69,71) on the par-72 6,835-yard layout. &nbsp;

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<b>AMARILLO, Texas</b><b></b> (October 10, 2011)&nbsp;- Niel DuPreez shot a final round one-under-par (-1) and Leon Scheepers shot even-par for a third place finish and the Lubbock Christian University Chaparrals finished in fourth place at the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational hosted by West Texas A&amp;M at Tascosa Country Club.

Scheepers was in second place after carding a 69 in the opening round, and he followed it with a pair of 72s to finish with a three-round total of 213.&nbsp; DuPreez opened with a 73 and followed with a 75 before leading the team with his final round 70.&nbsp; His final round score was the second best final round score in the field and it helped him to a sixth place finish.&nbsp; Josh Mahan finished in the top-25 with a share of 23<sup>rd</sup> place with a 227 (74,75,78).&nbsp; Also competing for the Chaps was Cameron Swarb (74-79-76, 229; tied-29<sup>th</sup>) and Facundo Garcia (81-79-72, 232; 36<sup>th</sup>).&nbsp; Playing individually for LCU was Nicolas Cornu and he finished in a share of 31<sup>st</sup> with a 230 (79, 78, 73).

The Chaps turned in a 290 in the opening and final round with a 301 in the middle round.&nbsp; The 881 total score for the Chaps was four strokes better than Wayland Baptist University and three strokes behind Cameron University.&nbsp; LCU and Wayland were the only NAIA programs among the 10-team field comprised mostly of NCAA Div. II squads. The Chaps finished behind three NCAA Div. III programs, including Abilene Christian, who won the tournament with a 859 (295, 275, 289).&nbsp; Alex Carpenter of ACU won the event with a 208 (71, 70, 67) on the par-71 6,492-yard layout.]]></content:encoded>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<b>LUBBOCK, Texas</b> (September 20, 2011)&nbsp;- The Lubbock Christian University men's golf team hosted the Chaps Fall Invitational, which concluded play Tuesday with LCU finishing tied for seventh among the 12-team field at LakeRidge Country Club.

LCU finished tied with Hutchinson Community College, as they each had a 903 team score.&nbsp; The Chaps opened with their best round with a score of 295.&nbsp; The followed with a 300 in the second round and a 308 in the final round.&nbsp; Josh Mahan was their lone top-20 finisher.&nbsp; He finished tied for 20<sup>th</sup> with a 223 (79, 69, 75).&nbsp; His middle round 69 was the team's lowest round shot.&nbsp; Leon Scheepers (73, 77, 76) and Niel DuPreez (71, 76, 79) each finished tied for 30<sup>th </sup>with a 226.&nbsp; Also competing in the team scoring for LCU was Facundo Garcia (229, tied-40<sup>th</sup>) and Nicolas Cornu (240, 61<sup>st</sup>).&nbsp; 

The Chaps fielded an alternate team, which was led by Jonathan Dansby (229, tied-40<sup>th</sup>).&nbsp; Cameron Swarb of LCU competed individually as a medalist and led the field in par-three scoring (-1).&nbsp; He finished tied for 34<sup>th</sup> with a 227.

Wayland Baptist University won the event with a team score of 870 (287, 293, 290).&nbsp; They were led by Bradley Sinnett, who shot a 209 (69, 73, 67).&nbsp; The course was a par 72 layout covering 6,739 yards with 72 golfers competing.]]></content:encoded>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<b>ABILENE, Texas</b> (September 13, 2011) - The Lubbock Christian University men's golf team opened up their fall season with a seventh place finish out of 14 teams at the Charles Coody West Texas Invitational hosted by Abilene Christian University.&nbsp; Leon Scheepers led the Chaparrals with an eighth place finish at Diamondback Golf Club.

Scheepers held the best round on each day for the Chaps on the par-71 6,977-yard layout.&nbsp; He opened with a 73 and followed with a 67.&nbsp; His second round 67 ranked tied for third overall as the best second round score.&nbsp; He shot even on par-four holes and recorded nine birdies.&nbsp; The New Mexico Military Institute transfer helped the team finish third overall in birdies.&nbsp; Fellow teammate and South African Neil DuPreez finished in the top-25 for the Chaps finishing in a share of 23<sup>rd</sup> place with a score of 146 (74, 72).&nbsp; Facundo Garcia (74, 75) and Josh Mahan (76, 73) each shot a 149 to finish in a share of 38<sup>th</sup>.&nbsp; Nicolas Cornu rounded out the Chaps squad with a pair of rounds of 78 to finish tied for 64<sup>th</sup> with a 156.&nbsp; Playing individually for LCU was Jonathan Dansby, who finished tied for 58<sup>th</sup> with a 154 (76, 78).

LCU shot a 584 as a team, opening with a 297 and improving 10 strokes to a 287 in the second round. Their 287 tied as the third best team score of the round and it was better than the round produced by No.1 Abilene Christian University (NCAA Div. II).&nbsp; No.3 Central Oklahoma (NCAA Div. II) won the event with a team score of 563 (281, 282).&nbsp; Alex Carpenter of ACU won the individual title with a 134 (65, 69).&nbsp; The 14-team field was comprised of 11 NCAA Div. II schools, two NAIA programs and one NCAA Div. I program.

The Chaps will return home to host the Chaps Fall Collegiate Sept. 19<sup>th</sup> at LakeRidge Country Club.&nbsp;&nbsp;]]></content:encoded>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="align-justify"><b>LUBBOCK, Texas </b>(June 9, 2011) – A pair of Lubbock Christian University Chaparral golfers claimed Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors, as the NAIA recognized Cosme Beamonte and Cameron Swarb for their efforts in the classroom.</p>

<p class="align-justify">Beamonte, a native of Rio Cuarto, Argentina, is a junior with a 3.56 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) majoring in Business Administration.&nbsp; Swarb is a senior from White Deer, Texas and had a 3.70 GPA in Secondary Education.&nbsp; The honor is the first for each of the golfers.&nbsp; It marks the third straight season the Chaps have received the honor and with multiple recipients.&nbsp; </p>

<p class="align-justify">In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor. </p>]]></content:encoded>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="align-justify"><b>CATOOSA, Okla. </b>(April 27, 2011) – Facundo Garcia claimed All-Sooner Athletic Conference honors with a share of third place and it led Lubbock Christian University to a fourth place finish at the SAC Championships, which concluded Wednesday at Cherokee Hills Golf Club.</p>

<p class="align-justify">Garcia, a sophomore from Argentina, led LCU with a season-best three-round total of 214.&nbsp; He led LCU in the second round with a 70 before closing out the tournament with a 74.&nbsp; Garcia led the tournament in par-four scoring (even) and in birdies with 12, as he claimed his third top-five finish of the year.&nbsp; Fellow Argentinean Cosme Beamonte finish second on the squad with a 221 (74-71-76), placing him tied for 16<sup>th</sup> overall.&nbsp; Niel DuPreez finished in the top-25 for the Chaparrals with a 222 (68-78-76).&nbsp; His opening round 68 led LCU for the round and it was his first sub-70 performance of his LCU career.&nbsp; Michael Milliken finished in 27<sup>th</sup> place with a 227 (74-74-79) and Landon Waters completed play in 34<sup>th</sup> place with a 232 (82-77-73).&nbsp; Waters’ final round score led the team for the round.</p>

<p class="align-justify">LCU finished with their best three-round tournament score of the season.&nbsp; The Chaps carded an 877, as they shot a 286 in the opening round and followed with a 292 and 299.&nbsp; LCU, who finished second in the tournament with 33 birdies, finished three strokes back of No.8 Southern Nazarene (874).&nbsp; No.2 Oklahoma City University led the tournament with an 858 and No.1 Oklahoma Christian University was second with an 866. &nbsp;OC had the individual champion Preston Wilkins, who fired a combined 210 (66,72,72) on the par-70 6,637-yard layout.</p>

<p class="align-justify">The Chaps will now await an invitation to the 60<sup>th</sup> Annual NAIA Men’s Golf National Championship scheduled for May 24-27<sup>th</sup> at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill.</p>]]></content:encoded>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="align-justify"><b>ARDMORE, Okla.</b> (April 19, 2011) – The Lubbock Christian University men’s golf team had a solid performance in the Oklahoma City University Spring Classic and they finished in sixth place in the tournament, which featured six Top-25 NAIA programs .</p>

<p class="align-justify">The Chaps produced a three-round total of 899, with their best team round coming in the second round with a 295.&nbsp; They opened with a 301 and finished with a 303.&nbsp; LCU finished six strokes better than No.8 Southern Nazarene University and 14 strokes ahead of No.5 Grand View University.&nbsp; Of the teams finishing ahead of LCU, Oklahoma Baptist University was the only unranked team.&nbsp; The tournament was won by No.1 Oklahoma Christian University (874), with No.2 Oklahoma City University (891) finishing second.</p>

<p class="align-justify">The Chaps were led by Niel DuPreez, who registered his best score of the season with a three-round total of 219.&nbsp; The South African followed an opening round 75 with consecutive rounds of 72.&nbsp; His third round score (72) led all LCU players.&nbsp; Landon Waters, who finished in a share of third place in LCU’s last tournament at Northwood University, finished with a 224 for a share of 16<sup>th</sup> place.&nbsp; He finished tied for second in second-round scoring with a 71.&nbsp; He opened with a 78 and carded a 75 in the final round.&nbsp; Also competing for LCU was Facundo Garcia (T-28<sup>th</sup>, 80,74,75=229), Cosme Beamonte (T-34<sup>th</sup>, 72-78-81=231) and Cameron Swarb (49<sup>th</sup>, 76,80,84=240).</p>

<p class="align-justify">Wayland Baptist University’s Bradley Stinnett won the tournament with a 214 (73,71, 70) on the par-70 6,586-yard layout at Dornick Hills Golf &amp; Country Club.&nbsp; The tournament field was made up of 10 teams and 55 golfers. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="align-justify"><b>LUBBOCK, Texas</b> (April 13, 2011) – Lubbock Christian University men’s golf head coach Gary Belt announced Lubbock Christian High School’s Jonathan Dansby has signed a letter of intent to join the Chaparrals golf program.</p>

<p class="align-justify">Jonathan is the son of LCU women’s golf head coach John Dansby.&nbsp; He has had success all four years at LCHS on and off the links.&nbsp; As a freshman, he carried an 81 average and was the district champion.&nbsp; The Eagles golf squad finished the season as the state runner-up in TAPPS Class 3A while Dansby was a freshman.&nbsp; They repeated as the state runner-up as a sophomore and he finished fifth in state to claim First Team All-State honors.&nbsp; He averaged a 78 per round as a sophomore and won the regional tournament en route to the state tournament.&nbsp; Dansby has averaged a 77 per round over his junior and senior seasons.&nbsp; He claimed district and regional individual titles as a junior and finished third at the state tournament to claim First Team All-State honors for a second consecutive time.&nbsp; The Eagles also finished as state runner-ups for a third consecutive season with Dansby on the squad.&nbsp; Dansby just recently repeated as the district and regional champion and is currently preparing for the state tournament in McKinney.</p>

<p class="align-justify">Dansby’s success on the course has leaked into the classroom.&nbsp; He holds a 4.0 GPA and ranks third in his class.&nbsp; The four-year National Honor Society member has excelled in band and has received numerous band accolades.&nbsp; He was a two-time member of LCHS’s state championship band program.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="align-justify"><b>DeSOTO, Texas </b>(April 6, 2011) – The Lubbock Christian University men’s golf team completed play in the Northwood Spring Invitational at Thorntree Country Club with a third place finish, with individuals Cosme Beamonte and Landon Waters finishing tied for third among individual finishers.</p>

<p class="align-justify">Beamonte led the event going into the third and final round after shooting a 76 and 73 in the first two rounds.&nbsp; He was unable to hold the lead, as he carded an 87 in the final round for a 236 finish.&nbsp; Waters competed independently in medalist play and also shot a 236.&nbsp; He opened with an 83 and improved with a 77 followed by a 76.&nbsp; </p>

<p class="align-justify">The Chaparrals led as a team after the opening round with a team score of 319.&nbsp; They continued to improve with a 316 followed with a 315. The Chaps finished two strokes behind William Carey College and six strokes back of tournament winning No.10 Our Lady of the Lake University.&nbsp; Neil DuPreez had the best final round score on the squad with a 77 to finish tied for seventh place with a 238 (78-83-77).&nbsp; Facundo Garcia (85-78-78=241, T-13<sup>th</sup>), Justin Aldous (80-82-81=243, 15<sup>th</sup>) and Michael Milliken (87-85-79=251, T-18<sup>th</sup>) all finished in the top-20 for LCU.</p>

<p class="align-justify">Nick Chacon of OLLU won the individual title with a 225, firing a tournament best round of 72 in the final round.<br /><br /></p>]]></content:encoded>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="align-justify"><b>SAN ANTONIO </b>(March 22, 2011) – Lubbock Christian University’s Cosme Beamonte and Facundo Garcia each finished in the top-five and LCU finished in third place at the Our Lady of the Lake University Classic hosted at Golf Club of Texas at Briggs Ranch.</p>

<p class="align-justify">Beamonte finished in third place with a low-round total of 69 in the second round to follow an opening round 74 for a total of 143.&nbsp; His 69 was the only sub-70 round shot of the entire tournament.&nbsp; He co-led the tournament shooting even on par-four holes and was tied for second with eight birdies.&nbsp; Beamonte and Facundo were tied co-leading all players with a -4 on par five holes.&nbsp; Facundo finished in fourth place with a 145.&nbsp; He followed a 74 with a 71 in the second round.&nbsp; He led the event with 25 pars.&nbsp; Justin Aldous shot a 154, splitting with a pair of 77 for an 18<sup>th</sup> place finish.&nbsp; Michael Milliken (80,78 = 158) finished in 26<sup>th</sup> and Niel DuPreez (80,79 = 159) finished tied in 28<sup>th</sup>.</p>

<p class="align-justify">LCU was in last place (fifth place) after the opening day of play, but the Chaps responded from an opening round 305 with a 295 for the biggest second round improvement.&nbsp; The Chaps led the tournament in pars (112) and they co-led in par-five scoring with a -5.&nbsp; With a total score of 600, LCU finished 10 strokes ahead of Houston-Victoria and eight strokes behind No. 10 Our Lady of the Lake.</p>

<p class="align-justify">Western Texas won the event with a 590 (287,303) and Nick Flynn led the team with an individual tournament best 142 (70, 72) on the par-72 7,022-yard layout. &nbsp;</p>]]></content:encoded>
