Douglas produced a solid freshman season, scoring exactly 300 points in 30 games for an average of 10 points a game.  He averaged 4.8 rebounds to rank second on the squad (led team with 45 offensive rebounds), and led the team with 38 steals. From the field, Douglas shot 48.8% from the field, which led all players that had at least 200 shot attempts on the squad. He was 12-of-16 from the field with 27 points against Oklahoma City University on 2/5/09.

In High School

Douglas Williams spent four years playing high school basketball for the Floydada High School Whirlwinds in Floydada, Texas.

Under Head Coach Chris Brattain?s guidance, Williams flourished as a four-time All-District 6-2A selection, earned Defensive Most Valuable Players honors his freshman and sophomore years.

In addition, following both his junior and senior seasons, Williams was an All-South Plains honoree, and this past year, he was the District 6-2A Most Valuable Player as well as a member of the TABS and THSCA All-Star Teams, where at the all-star weekend, he competed in the slam dunk contest before winning the three point contest.
