KANSAS CITY, Mo. (November 15, 2009) - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the opening round matches for the 30th Annual NAIA Volleyball National Championship, and No. 20 Lubbock Christian University will serve as one of 12 programs hosting an opening round match.  The Lady Chaparrals will host University of St. Thomas (Texas) Saturday, November 21st at Rip Griffin Center with a tentative 2 p.m. start.

LCU and St. Thomas were two of 36 programs which qualified for the NAIA National Championship.... Full Story

LUBBOCK, Texas (November 14, 2009) - It appeared Oklahoma Baptist University was well on their way to their first NAIA Volleyball National Championship appearance in program history, leading 8-3 in the third set after winning the opening two sets of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament Championship Match over host Lubbock Christian University, but the No.20 Lady Chaparrals never surrendered.... LUBBOCK, Texas (November 13, 2009) - Courtney Yonke produced 30 digs and Elissa Loynes and Bailey Jones each supplied 11 kills, as No.20 Lubbock Christian University defeated rival Wayland Baptist University 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-17) Friday night to advance to the championship game of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament at Rip Griffin Center.  LCU improves to 25-5 with the victory, and they will face Oklahoma Baptist University Saturday at 2 p.m. 

All three sets resulted in identical 25-17 scores and they each featured the same tempo, with LCU relying on deep runs midway through the sets.... Full Story

OKLAHOMA CITY (November 13, 2009) - Lubbock Christian University had its Sooner Athletic Conference regular season championship rewarded with a dominating presence in the SAC Postseason Awards, announced Friday, including Most Valuable Player Elissa Loynes.

Loynes, a junior middle blocker from Kemah, Texas, was also named Hitter of the Year and a member on the First Team All-Sac squad.... Full Story
