OKLAHOMA CITY (October 13, 2009) - Freshman Sinae Montoya recorded a six-over-par (+6) for a second place individual finish, leading the Lubbock Christian University women’s golf team to a third place finish at the Oklahoma City Star Classic hosted by Oklahoma City University on the par-71 6,122-foot Lincoln Park Golf Course.

Montoya led the classic after the opening round Monday with a 73 and followed with a 75 on Tuesday.  She was edged out Tuesday by Wayland Baptist’s Charlotte Guilleux, who carded a 73 Tuesday for a 147 and a one-stroke victory.... Full Story


TEMPLE, Texas (October 6, 2009) - Last season, the Lubbock Christian University women’s golf team walked off the Wildflower Country Club missing out on first place by one stroke.  The Lady Chaps were able to return to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Fall Invitational and walk off the course holding the first place trophy Tuesday, as Rachael Dansby claimed the individual title to lead the Lady Chaps to a first place finish against the 16-team field.

Dansby, who finished tied for fourth last season at the invitational, won the individual title with a scorecard playoff against Southwestern University’s Kristen Davenport.... Full Story

 

AMARILLO, Texas (September 30, 2009) - The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals golf program opened their fall season with a seventh place finish at the Lady Buffs Stampede hosted by West Texas A&M University at La Paloma Golf Club.

LCU finished seventh among the 16-team field, which included 15 NCAA Div. II programs competing on the par-71, 5,947-foot layout.  The Lady Chaps opened the two-round tournament with a 331 and ranked 8th, before finishing with a 339 to finish a stroke ahead of Dallas Baptist University for the seventh place finish with a total of (670).... >LUBBOCK, Texas (June 1, 2009) – Kelly Rainbolt has had a storied history with the Lubbock Christian University women’s golf program, and adding to her legacy was the announcement made by the NAIA that Rainbolt has been named an NAIA All-American Honorable Mention and she was included on the NAIA National Championship All-Tournament Team.

The senior from Sweetwater, Texas is the only member in program history to ever win a tournament and to claim All-American honors, and she has now completed each task twice. Her latest win came at the Bluebonnet Classic in Desoto, Texas during the spring season.... Full Story

RAPID CITY, SD (May 16, 2009) – The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals golf program completed the NAIA National Championships at Meadowbrook Golf Course with their second best finish in program history, finishing in 11th place.

The Lady Chaps were making their third consecutive appearance at the NAIA’s marquee women’s golf event. They opened the tournament with a solid round of 316, placing the Lady Chaps in the top-ten and 14 strokes off the lead, but they fell apart in a windy second round.... Full Story
