KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The 2009 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Men’s and Women’s Cross Country National Championships are scheduled for Nov. 21 in Vancouver, Wash. The event will take place at the Fort Vancouver Historical Site and hosted by the Cascade Collegiate Conference and Concordia (Ore.) University. This marks the first year for the event in Vancouver -- Kenosha, Wis., was the site for the Championships the previous two years.... Full Story


Men’s Team and Individual National Qualifiers

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the qualifiers for the 54th Annual Men’s and 30th Annual Women’s NAIA Cross Country National Championships. The national races will be held at Fort Vancouver Historic Site in Vancouver, Wash., on Nov. 21. The men’s 8K will start at 10:30 a.m. PST, with the women’s 5K to follow at 11:45 a.m. PST.... RESULTS

LUBBOCK, Texas (November 6, 2009) - Oklahoma Christian got a big performance from Silas Kisorio and David McWilliams to win the Sooner Athletic Conference Men’s Cross Country Championship Friday at Chaparral Ridge Golf Course hosted by Lubbock Christian University. The Chaparrals finished third in the race, with Basil Melek and Izzie Miranda each qualifying for the NAIA National Championship in Vancouver, Wash. Nov. 21.Full Story

 
RESULTS

WINFIELD, Kan. (October 24, 2009) - Basil Melek and Izzie Miranda each finished in the top-15, but the Lubbock Christian University men’s cross country team couldn’t receive any additional finishers in the top-50, as the Chaparrals finished 12th out of 22 programs partaking in the NAIA Mid-States Classic hosted by Southwestern College.

Melek finished seventh in the 8k event with a time of 25:48. Miranda was just 12 seconds back of Melek (26:00) and he finished 13th.... Full Story

 
RESULTS

LEVELLAND, Texas (October 10, 2009) - The Lubbock Christian University Chaparrals cross country team had three top-ten finishers, including a third place finish from Basil Melek, as the Chaps finished third as a team at the South Plains College Cross Country Festival Saturday morning.

Melek finished with a time of 24:21 in the 8k event. Izzie Miranda finished eight seconds back and in fifth place. Tommy Owen had his first top-ten finish of the season, finishing in ninth with a time of 25:10.... Full Story
