In Professional Baseball
Richard is a freshman second baseman, who comes to LCU with professional experience. The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim selected Bohlken in the 32nd round (986th overall selection) of the 2007 Major League Baseball entry draft. He spent the 2007 season playing 16 games of rookie ball with the Angels Arizona League affiliate.
In High School
The Albuquerque, N.M. native is a product of La Cueva High School, where he was teammates with Chaps outfielder J.J. Muse. In high school, Richard was an All-American and received multiple All-State honors in baseball and football as a running back and linebacker. La Cueva claimed a state title in Bohlken’s senior season and he earned a spot on the West roster of the All-American Game. Received Gatorade Player of the Year honors. He also earned academic accolades in high school. Bohlken had committed to play with the University of New Mexico before being drafted.

Son of Richard & Shannon Bohlken... Notes Michael Jordan as his favorite athlete and the top historical figure he would like to meet... He enjoys working out and watching Seinfeld, Friends and King of Queens.
