Vickers Earns Academic Honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (June 2, 2010) -- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that 196 baseball players have been named 2010 Daktronics-NAIA Baseball Scholar-Athletes, and among the names is Lubbock Christian University's Tanner Vickers.


Chaps Title Run Ends

LEWISTON, Idaho (May 29, 2010) – Less than 17 hours after surrendering a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning in a 7-6 loss to Lee University (Tenn.), Hunter Scott’s first pitch in a relief outing for Lubbock Christian University was hit for a home run by Belhaven University’s (Miss.) Derek Tortorich in the eighth inning proving to be the difference in a 3-2 win over the Chaparrals Saturday morning at Harris Field.  The loss ends the Chaps season at the Avista-NAIA World Series and it marks the first time in the 54-year history of the event that a defending national championship squad qualified for the World Series the following season and went 0-2.


Chaps Rally and Fall In Ninth

LEWISTON, Idaho (May 28, 2010) – Down to their final out in the ninth inning, Lubbock Christian University received a two-out solo home run from Rafael Thomas to tie the game at 6-6, but Lee University’s (Tenn.) Jose Cuevas hit a two-out walk-off home run in the bottom of the inning to lead the Flames to a 7-6 win Friday to open play for both teams at the Avista-NAIA World Series held at Harris Field.


Pairings Announced

KANSAS CITY, Mo. –  The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the official seedings and bracket for the 2010 Avista-NAIA World Series, hosted by Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) from May 28-June 4 in Lewiston, Idaho. The Warriors are the No. 1 seed and will have a bye on the first day. Lewis-Clark State, owners of an NAIA-record 16 World Series titles, has been the No. 1-ranked team in the Coaches’ Top 25 Poll in all seven regular season rankings this season.
