NORFOLK, Va. (September 1, 2010) – The Baltimore Orioles have promoted former Lubbock Christian University second baseman Buck Britton to the Norfolk Tides, which serve as their triple-A affiliate in the International League.

Due to requests by several alumni, we have decided to change the setup of the Baseball Alumni Weekend, which celebrates its annual event for a fourth consecutive year on the weekend of September 10-11th.  This year, Alumni will be teaming up with guys from their respective eras to form teams for a softball tournament, to be held at Hays Field all day Saturday, September 11th.  We will likely have a round-robin format which will include alumni from all years and players from the current Chaps team.

WICHITA, Kan. (August 15, 2010) - In 2009, it was Lubbock Christian University baseball assistant coach Andy Schatzley serving as the head coach for El Dorado (Kan.) and leading them to a National Baseball Congress (NBC) World Series title.  This season, LCU played another role in a NBC World Series title.  LCU starting pitcher Paul Gonzalez earned NBC World Series Most Valuable Player honors and led the Liberal Bee Jays (Kan.) to this season's title.

OKLAHOMA CITY (July 13, 2010) - The Sooner Athletic Conference awarded Oklahoma Baptist University as the recipient of the 2009-10 SAC Cup, with Lubbock Christian University finishing third in the mix.
