LUBBOCK, Texas (October 23, 2013) – Lauren Story became the first two-time recipient of the Heartland Conference's Defensive Player of the Week this season, as the conference selected the Lubbock Christian University goalkeeper for the honor this week.

Story became LCU's single season and career leader in shutouts, as she collected her sixth of the season in a 3-0 win at Newman (also her sixth in her career). She followed allowing a goal in LCU's 2-1 win at Rogers State. The goal allowed ended Story's shutout sequence at 236:35. She produced a 0.50 GAA and a 2-0-0 record on the week. The sophomore goalkeeper from Wylie, Texas ranks third in the conference with a 0.92 GAA on the season (leads goalkeepers with over 700 minutes played) and in save percentage (78.6%). She co-leads the conference with six shutouts.

The honor for Story is the second of the season she has received. LCU joins St. Edwards as the only undefeated teams in Heartland Conference play (5-0-0). The Lady Chaps are 8-5-0 overall and they return to action Saturday afternoon in Abilene, Texas facing McMurry
