Men's Soccer - Mon, Oct. 14, 2013

LUBBOCK, Texas (October 14, 2013) – Monday's Heartland Conference men's and women's soccer matches between Lubbock Christian University and Texas A&M International University have been moved because of unplayable conditions at LCU Soccer Field.  With the ongoing weekend showers leaving standing water at LCU Soccer Field, the games scheduled for noon (men) and 2:30 p.m. (women) have been rescheduled for 11 a.m. (men) and 1 p.m. (women) at Frenship High School's Peoples Bank Stadium, which has a Field Turf playing surface.

With the games being moved off campus, the student senate's "Flock to the Field" event has been postponed to another date.  Live scoring will still take place, but live video may not be available until pregame network tests are conducted.

LCU's men's soccer is 5-3-1 on the season and they enter the game 2-0-0 in Heartland Conference action. The Chaps have out-scored their opponents 6-0 in conference action. TAMIU is coming off a 5-2 loss at Texas-Permian Basin, which has them 2-1-0 in conference and 4-6-1 overall.

The Lady Chaps, like the men, also bring in a 2-0-0 Heartland Conference record and an overall mark of 5-5-0 on the season. They are seeking to extend a two-game win streak. TAMIU's women's program is seeking to end a two-game losing streak and are 1-3 in conference after a 1-0 loss Saturday at Texas-Permian Basin.

LCU is in its fourth season of soccer and they have never had to move a game off their home pitch due to inclement weather or unplayable conditions. Following Monday's action, the LCU teams will head to Wichita, Kan. to face Newman University Saturday.
