LUBBOCK, Texas (October 2, 2013) – Lubbock Christian University women's basketball head coach Steve Gomez has finalized his schedule for the 2013-2014 season, which will tip off at home on Nov.12 against Eastern New Mexico University. Included in the mix to jumpstart the season is an exhibition game Nov. 2 at the University of Houston.

The exhibition game is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Hofheinz Pavillion. They face a Houston program which is coming off a 13-17 season in 2012-2013. LCU's last exhibition game against a NCAA Div. I opponent resulted in a 71-65 win over Texas Tech University on Nov. 10, 2009. The regular season tips off Nov. 12 at 8:30 p.m. against Eastern New Mexico inside the Rip Griffin Center.

The Lady Chaps, who are playing in their first season in the Heartland Conference, are playing a 26-game schedule all against NCAA Div. II competition.  Of the 26 games, 11 are at home, 12 are on the road and three are neutral sight competitions. LCU will compete in a pair of classics during the season, as they are scheduled to participate in the Texann Tip-Off Classic (Nov. 15-16) hosted by Tarleton State in Stephenville, Texas and in the Oahu Classic hosted by Malika Sport Tours with games played at McKinlay High School in Honolulu, Hawaii.

LCU's ten-year run to the NAIA National Championship tournament comes to an end this season, as they transition to NCAA Div. II and play a Heartland Conference schedule. The Lady Chaps will play 20 Heartland Conference games this season, with 10 at home and 10 on the road. Their conference opener is scheduled for Nov. 21 in Lubbock against Oklahoma Panhandle State University. Conference games will count in conference standings, but they are ineligible for postseason play (including conference tournaments) and they are unable to claim a conference regular season title.
