LUBBOCK, Texas (September 25, 2013) – Representatives of the Lubbock Christian University men's soccer team swept the Heartland Conference's weekly men's soccer honors, as Billy Forbes (Offensive) and Erik Mozzo (Defensive) claimed the Player of the Week honors.

Forbes played the offensive role in a week that saw LCU go 2-0-0 with wins over NAIA-ranked (No.18) Texas Wesleyan and No.13 Texas – Permian Basin for the program's first ever win over a ranked opponent. He registered eight points on the week, with a pair of goals in each of the games.  The Turks & Caicos Islands native had the game winners in each game as well. On the season, Forbes leads the Heartland Conference in goals (9), game winning goals (3), points per game (3), goals per game (1.5), shots (31) and shots per game (5.17). He is second in points with 18.

Mozzo was solid in goal in both LCU victories. He stopped four shots against Texas Wesleyan, with the lone goal coming on an own-goal. Against Texas - Permian Basin, he recorded his second shutout of the season with a three-save shutout. For the combined week, he allowed one goal on eight shots in 180 minutes in goal. On the season, the Beaufort, S.C. native ranks second in the conference in GAA (1.47), save percentage (.780). He leads the conference in shutouts with two.

The honor is the second this season for Forbes and the first for Mozzo. The Chaps return to action at 3 p.m. Saturday in Farmers Branch, Texas, as they face Dallas Christian College. LCU is 3-2-1 on the season.
