LUBBOCK, Texas (September 23, 2013) – The Heartland Conference announced the volleyball players of the week on Monday, with Lubbock Christian's Erin Fisher garnering Setter of the Week honors.
The junior from Monahans, Texas, led the Lady Chaps to a 2-0 record during the weekend over conference opponents Oklahoma Panhandle State and Newman University. Fisher led the team in assists, even while splitting time in the match against OPSU on September 19. Versus NU on September 21, her 46 assists were a season-high. In addition to her 68 assists throughout the two matches, she also tallied 11 digs and three blocks.
Fisher sits atop the conference standings with an average of 10 assists per game. This is the first Heartland Conference Volleyball Player of the Week honor given to an LCU student athlete.
The Lady Chaps return home on Thursday to face UA-Fort Smith at 7 p.m. and host Dallas Baptist on Saturday at noon.
