FORT WORTH, Texas (September 21, 2013) – Billy Forbes scored a pair of goals, including the game winning goal in the 64th minute, and Lubbock Christian University ended a three-game winless streak with a 2-1 win to hand No.18 (NAIA) Texas Wesleyan University their first loss of the season. The win was LCU's first ever win against a ranked opponent.

Forbes, who now has seven goals on the season, scored his first goal in the 48th minute. Jorge Martinez assisted on the goal for the 1-0 lead. The Rams had shutout their opponents over the prior three games, so Forbes' goal ended their shutout string. Former Chaps forward David Hagen, who transferred to TWU prior to this season, tied the game in the 55th minute with his second goal of the season. Martinez set up Forbes again in the 64th minute for the eventual game winning goal.  It marked Forbes' second multi-goal game of the season.

TWU out-shot LCU 17-13, but LCU had a 6-5 advantage in shots on goal. Each goalkeeper had four saves, as LCU's Erik Mozzo garnered the win stopping four of five shots faced.

LCU improves to 2-2-1 on the season with the win. They are also 1-3-1 all-time against ranked (NAIA or NCAA) opponents. The loss was the first for the Rams and they fall to 6-1-1. It will be a quick turnaround for the Chaps as they return home Monday to host Texas-Permian Basin for their Heartland Conference opener.
