OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (September 17, 2013) – Lubbock Christian women's golf closed out the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic hosted by Oklahoma City University in 11th place on Tuesday. The team turned in a final score of 989 after shooting rounds of 321, 329 and 339.

 

Shelbye Hill led the Lady Chaps, concluding with a round of 82 after shooting a 71 (the second lowest score on any round for the entire tournament) and 78 on Monday. Her total score of 231 tied her for 17th place. Bailey Brown ended up in a tie for 51st with a 252, Kelsey Garcia tied for 54th with a score of 254, Shanae Ammons finished in 58th after a 256, and April Torrez completed the tournament in 71st with a score of 274.

 

Redlands Community College edged out host Oklahoma City by one stroke, finishing with an 895. The Cougars ended the tournament by shooting a 297 in the final round, preceded by two rounds of 299 on Monday. Lina Anguillon of Redlands was the top finisher, shooting rounds of 70, 72 and 72 for a total of 214. She edged out Anna Arrese and India Matthews of Oklahoma Christian, who shot a 216 and 217, respectively.

 

The Lady Chaps finished at 125-over par, compiling 14 birdies and 103 pars on the par-72, 6, 004-yard course.
