CANYON, Texas (September 16, 2013) – The Lubbock Christian University Chaparrals soccer team plays their first road game of the season Monday at 7 p.m., as they face No.14 West Texas A&M.

CHAPS FLIGHT DECK
•    The Lubbock Christian University Chaparrals play their first road game of the season after going 1-1-1 through a three-game homestand.
•    The game is the first of two straight road games before returning home Sept. 23 for their first Heartland Conference contest of the season.
•    LCU went 3-4-1 last season and are 14-10-5 all-time in road contests.

STORY LINES
•    LCU has been feast or famine on the season offensively. They opened the season Sept. 5 with a 6-1 victory over Southwest (N.M.), but have not scored a goal since in two games. The Chaps enter the game with an active shutout sequence of 203:30.
•    The Chaparrals and Huston-Tillotson played to a 0-0 tie in double overtime Saturday, marking the first scoreless (0-0) decision in program history.
•    Chaps senior goalkeeper Erik Mozzo has been very active in goal through the first two games of the season. The second-year Chap has 21 saves through three games and has faced 25 shots on the young season. He is coming off a shutout against Huston-Tillotson, which was his first career shutout.
•    Opponents have out-shot LCU 25-18 in shots-on-goal this season, but LCU out-shot Huston-Tillotson 9-6 Saturday marking the first time this season they have out-shot their opponents on goal.
•    LCU has had success in the month of September. The Chaps are 14-3-6 all-time in games played in September.
•    Lubbock Christian is 0-2-1 all-time against ranked opponents.
•    The Chaps are 17-4-5 all-time against non-conference opponents, but are 2-3-3 in their last eight non-conference contests.

SCOUTING WEST TEXAS A&M
•    The Buffs are 3-0-0 on the season and have out-scored their opponents a combined 9-0.
•    This season, WTAMU plays their first six games at home. They are also home eight of their first 10 and 10 of their 17 regular season games.
•    The Buffs come into the contest following a 5-0 win over McMurry on Friday.
•    George Beasley leads the Buffs in scoring with three goals on the season. He also leads the team with six points (all from goals). All his point were scored in the win over McMurry.

SERIES HISTORY WITH WEST TEXAS A&M
•    This meeting marks the first all-time regular season meeting between the two programs.
•    LCU is 1-0-1 all-time against Lone Star Conference members.
