LUBBOCK, Texas (September 11, 2013) – The Heartland Conference announced their first weekly conference honors for the soccer season and Lubbock Christian University forward Billy Forbes was selected as the Heartland Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

Forbes, who missed the 2012 season after 21 goals in 2011, made his LCU return with a
program single-game best four goals on Sept. 5 against University of the Southwest (N.M.) in the Chaps season opener. His eight points in the game also tied a program single-game high for points. Of his four goals, three came in the second half and were tallied in a span of 32:09. Forbes is a senior forward from Turk and Caicos Islands.

The honor is the first Heartland Conference honor handed to an LCU student-athlete. The Chaps return to action with a 1-1-0 record Saturday hosting Huston-Tillotson at noon.
