LUBBOCK, Texas (July 23, 2013) – Lubbock Christian University volleyball head coach Jennifer Lawrence has verified some changes to the 2013 schedule and has also finalized the overall schedule for the Heartland Conference / Lone Star Conference Crossover Tournament hosted by the Lady Chaparrals.

The schedule changes were initiated by West Texas A&M, who are hosting the Lady Buff Classic on Sept. 6 and 7 in Canyon, Texas. WTAMU made some changes to the schedule and now has LCU playing Sept. 6 at 11 a.m. against Colorado - Colorado Springs and at 3:30 p.m. against University of the Incarnate Word. UIW, who LCU has not played since 1999, is a former NAIA program which is in their first season as a member of the NCAA Div. I Southland Conference. LCU will play tournament host WTAMU Sept. 7 at 1 p.m. and will follow with their first ever meeting with Western State Colorado at 5:30 p.m.

The HC/LSC Crossover Tournament hosted by LCU includes seven programs represented from either the Heartland or Lone Star conferences. Midwestern State, St. Mary's (Texas), Texas - Permian Basin, Texas A&M - Commerce, Texas A&M International and Texas A&M – Kingsville are joining LCU to make up the tournament's pool of teams. The tournament is scheduled for Sept. 13 and 14, with 12 matches taking place. Eight of the matches will be played inside the Rip Griffin Center on the LCU campus and four of the matches will be hosted at the Lubbock Christian High School gymnasium.

The season marks LCU's debut in the Heartland Conference. The Lady Chaps completed the 2012 season with a 23-9 record. They went 10-2 in the Sooner Athletic Conference, leading to a second place finish in the conference.
