SHAWNEE, Okla. (May 2, 2013) – Tournament officials at the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament have postponed Thursday's pool play games and scheduling adjustments have been made to the original contingency plan for inclement weather.
LCU was originally scheduled to play Wayland Baptist University at 2 p.m. at Bison Field at Ford Park on the campus of Pool B host Oklahoma Baptist University. The game is now scheduled for Friday at noon. Oklahoma Baptist University is scheduled to play Saint Gregory's at 3 p.m. Here is the scenario for LCU's third pool play game (against Oklahoma Baptist), which was originally scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday.
If LCU wins at Noon (vs. Wayland): Then Wayland is eliminated and LCU plays at 6 p.m. (Friday) against Oklahoma Baptist as original scheduled.
If LCU loses at Noon (vs. Wayland) and St. Gregory's defeats Oklahoma Baptist: Then LCU would not play at 6 p.m. (Friday) and would play Oklahoma Baptist at noon (tentative time) Saturday (at Oklahoma City's Jim Wade Stadium). Tournament officials will meet Friday night to confirm or change the times for Saturday depending on the status of Pool A's scenario.
If LCU loses at Noon (vs. Wayland) and Oklahoma Baptist defeats St. Gregory's: LCU plays at 6 p.m. (Friday) against Oklahoma Baptist as original scheduled.
Lubbock Christian and Oklahoma Baptist each won their Pool B opening contests, with LCU defeating St. Gregory's 3-1 and OBU edging out WBU 6-5.
