PLAINVIEW, Texas (April 26, 2013) - No. 5 Lubbock Christian University and Wayland Baptist University will continue their four-game Sooner Athletic Conference series with a doubleheader with first pitch at 3 p.m. from Wilder Field in Plainview, Texas.

LCU is one win away from clinching the two-seed at the SAC Tournament after defeating the Pioneers 15-8 Thursday at Hays Field. Brandon Wilson matched a program single-game record with five hits and the Chaps produced 10 two-out runs-batted-in to take the victory. Wilson notched the 27th five-hit game in program history. Brennyn Smith was the last LCU player to complete the task, producing five hits May 3, 2012 at the SAC Tournament against Southern Nazarene. Wilson finished the game 5-for-5 with three singles, a double and a two-run home run.

Overall on the season, LCU is 37-13 and 17-8 in SAC play. They lead the NAIA in total doubles (132), doubles per game (2.640), runs scored per game (8.140), runs-batted-in per game (7.700), batting average (.349), total RBI (385) and slugging percentage (.566). The Chaps rank in the top-5 in the NAIA in 12 different statistical categories. Christian Vazquez continues to lead the Chaps in hits with 81, ranking him second in the NAIA. Joel Lutz's team leading 55 RBI ranks him sixth in the NAIA while his 12 home runs is fifth. Brett Kauten is ranked tied for third in NAIA with 13 home runs and has a team leading 23 stolen bases this season. On the mound, Derek Loera has 74 strike outs, averaging 9.47 a game and has a 2.82 ERA. As a team, the Chaps have 556 hits, 385 RBI and 57 home runs this season.

WBU fell to 18-32 overall and 9-15 in the SAC. Johnny Hendrixson leads the charge for the Pioneers, ranking second in the NAIA in total doubles (25), fourth in doubles per game (.500), 11th in total triples (5) and 15th with 103 total bases. On the mound, Tom Bailey has 56 total strike outs and a 4.24 ERA this season.
