LUBBOCK, Texas (April 20, 2013) – No. 2 Lubbock Christian University clinched a share of the Sooner Athletic Conference title after defeating Mid-America Christian in day one of the four-game series. They will look to clinch the title today at PlainsCapital Park with a first pitch at noon.

With the two wins, the Lady Chaps improve to 46-7 on the season and 20-2 in Sooner Athletic Conference play. Megan Sullivan leads the Lady Chaps this season with a team leading 72 hits, batting .477 and has 60 runs-batted-in this season. Sullivan ranks fifth in the NAIA with her 60 RBI while Latainna Eltsosie in ranked seventh with 55 RBI. Mallory Koschany continues to lead the NAIA in base running with 59 steal attempts, averaging 1.1 steals a game and has 56 stolen bases. On the mound Katera Eltsosie is third in the NAIA with 23 wins with a 1.12 ERA. As a team, the Lady Chaps are ranked in the top-10 in 15 different statistical categories. They rank first in stolen bases per game (3.9), steal attempts per game (4.3), total hits (519) and stolen bases (205).

Mid-America Christian University fell to 10-28 overall, 0-18 in SAC play. The Evangels will try to break an eight game losing streak and find their first win in conference play. The Evangels are led by Erica Love with 34 hits on the season and 30 runs-batted-in.
